Baja SAE Auburn will take place April 9-12, 2015 and volunteer participants are vital to the event.

We simply need folks who want to take part and help out. Specifically, the event is in need of volunteers who are engineers, especially with automotive or off-highway design experience; motor sports track staff to keep the races running smoothly and professionally; and people with any type of past BajaSAE experience.

Event training, food/ drink, competition information and even apparel (a collared Baja shirt) will be provided to volunteers …all you need to bring is enthusiasm and a sense of humor!

  • When to arrive: Volunteers will need to arrive at the track at 7 a.m. each day, unless given special instructions.

  • How to get there: Come on out to the National Center for Asphalt Technology, Opelika, Ala. Detailed directions and maps can be found on the Maps pages on ths site. [If you’d like to create your own route, the competition’s physical address is 1600 Lee County Road 151, Opelika, AL 36804. Come in the south gate and park in the parking lot.]

  • Where to go when I get to the track: When you arrive at the track each day, please park in one of the designated volunteer / spectator parking lots. Follow the signs to the Headquarters tent to check in and receive your volunteer packet and further instructions.

  • What to bring / wear:  For first-time Baja volunteers: Comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty are essential. Boots are recommended. You might want a hat, sunglasses or sunscreen. [While we’ll have large event tents in certain areas of the track, you might bring an umbrella or rain coat, just in case, as the event will continue, rain or shine.]

  • Remember: Volunteer breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided. And, upon registration and check in, you’ll be receiving your official Baja SAE Auburn volunteer collared shirt (please include your size on the volunteer signup form). All volunteers are required to wear this shirt each day they work, so plan for that when you arrive (1 shirt per volunteer will be provided) .

We are looking forward to having you and appreciate your participation!
